I have a heart to see breakthrough, healing, and freedom for my clients. I have 20+ years history of working with adolescents and adults with learning differences: neurodivergence, autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and executive functioning deficits. I have extensive experience working with individuals struggling with trauma, abuse, identity, and somatic issues.
In session, my main focus is you, your story, your goals, your healing, and your well-being. I take an eclectic, client-based approach to our time together and try to mold my presence in the room to match your needs in a non-judgmental and empathetic way.
I became a licensed professional counselor because I am passionate about helping adults who have the desire to have balance in their life.
Dealing with life challenges is overwhelming. And sometimes it is difficult to get back on track especially when you find yourself short of your expectations. The influence of culture, society and technology can create a false sense of personal inadequacy.
Hello, I am Jenny Agbortogho, a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). While I have worked with a wide range of clients, my focus is with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and co-occurring substance use difficulties. With a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and training in motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based treatment, I value the interpersonal connections that are made within therapy sessions. I also have expertise in developing healthy lifestyle patterns and have seen the power of mindfulness and self-compassion in helping people improve their lives.
I began this journey just seeking to learn about psychology and the nature of human behavior. The more I learned, the more I became fascinated with how resilient humans are in the face of significant challenges. However, what I found was that people will continue to live with underlying pain, because of the stigma previously put on people seeking help with mental health and trauma issues. I found that people created their own ways of coping and it often involved creating more harm. I knew at this time that I wanted to help people begin to face tough emotions and move toward healing the emotional pain.
I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology in 1991 and a Master of Science Degree in General Psychology in 1993 from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS. I later went back for another Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from Avila University in Kansas City, MO in 2014.
I have worked in the areas of domestic violence, at-risk youth, at-risk families, foster and adoption, and addiction. I specialize in working with trauma and addiction.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 17 years of experience as a psychotherapist. My background includes more than a decade working in university counseling centers, where I supported undergraduate and graduate students. Now in private practice in Denver, I bring that same depth of experience to a wider range of adults.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I offer approaches that incorporate mindfulness, somatic awareness, EMDR, and psychedelic-assisted therapy (including ketamine). I work with clients navigating stress, perfectionism, ADHD, trauma, difficulties with self-worth and shame, and major life changes, as well as those seeking deeper self-understanding and growth.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Fort Collins, Colorado, and the founder of A Place To Be Counseling. Before starting my private practice, I spent three years in a small group practice and four years working in inpatient facilities, where I supported individuals through some of the most challenging times in their lives. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University and specialize in depression, anxiety, out-of-control porn use, and trauma-informed care. My approach is grounded in mindfulness, authenticity, and collaboration—I strive to create a space where you can explore your experiences with honesty and compassion.
I’m a licensed mental health therapist who works with adults ages 18 and older, and I believe therapy should feel empowering, collaborative, and genuinely supportive. My approach is warm, open-minded, and nonjudgmental. I want you to feel safe being your full self in session, and I aim to meet you where you are while helping you grow in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Purdue University and my Master’s degree in Social Work from IUPUI, with a focus on addiction and mental health. My professional background includes two years in an outpatient mental health setting and one year working in residential treatment for substance use disorders. These experiences have shaped my understanding of how complex mental health and substance use can be—and how important it is to treat the whole person, not just symptoms.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction, emotional regulation difficulties, and life transitions. I enjoy helping clients explore patterns, build coping skills, and reconnect with their strengths. My style is collaborative and flexible, and I like to be creative in sessions when it’s helpful—whether that’s through reflective exercises, visual tools, or thinking outside the box to help things “click.”
