I am an experienced Mental Health Counselor with an international background in clinical psychology and research. I am deeply committed to provide help during difficult phases of a person's life journey. I specialize in working with adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, identity crisis, and bereavement. I am also experienced in working with couples and the specific challenges they encounter in their relationship.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with years of nursing experience in the psychiatric field, ranging from adult inpatient care to a community mental health clinic. I earned my degree from Pace University and have since dedicated my career to providing compassionate, holistic, and patient-centered mental healthcare.
My practice focuses on treating a range of mental health conditions, including ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorders, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorders, Bipolar and schizophrenia.

Hi! I am Dr. Thomas Rigg and I am a licensed psychologist based in New York City. I have been passionate about helping people since childhood. I strive to provide a warm and encouraging environment for clients from varying cultural, social, and gender identities to continue their healing journey and live a fuller life. I am dedicated to providing an environment where clients of all identities can be authentically themselves and acknowledge the importance of genuine self-expression for clients, both in the therapy space and throughout their lives.
I earned my bachelor’s degrees and doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from The University of Iowa. I gained experience working in college counseling centers and community mental health centers during my program. I also worked in a women’s shelter for several years providing support and resources to victims of domestic violence. During my doctoral program I conducted research on identity development and my thesis explored the impact that a client’s comfort expressing their culture to others had on their outcomes in therapy. I completed internship at George Mason University’s counseling center and finished my postdoctoral work at a private practice in New York City working with a wide range of adult clients.
