Hi there, I’m Robyn.. I am happy to share my experience and journey as it has been amazing. I have been in the field of behavioral health for over 20 years, and in many capacities. I love my work and don’t know what else I would be doing in either career or academia.
I have a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and continue to educate myself through reading, lectures, and trainings in order that I can offer the best possible support to those who trust in me to do so.
When life starts to feel overwhelming- managing work, home life, parenting demands, financial stress or simply trying to stay afloat, It is hard to know where to start. I provide a space where you can breathe, find solutions and feel supported. I will help you explore what’s fueling your stress and create a plan for positive change to move forward. I support parents navigating the unique stresses of raising children, offering guidance and practical strategies to address concerns about your child’s wellbeing and manage behavioral challenges with confidence.
With 29 years of experience in the field, I remain deeply committed to helping individuals and families impacted by the far-reaching effects of mental illness and every day life stressors. I believe meaningful change begins when clients feel safe, seen, heard and supported. I create a nurturing, emotionally safe environment and emphasizes the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for healing. Known for my nonjudgmental, compassionate approach.
My work is collaborative and individualized, integrating evidence-based practices through a trauma-informed and attachment-based lens. I draw from cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, and relational approaches while incorporating Sandplay Therapy, expressive and play-based techniques, mind-body practices, meditation, stress management, and psychoeducation. When clinically appropriate, these methods are thoughtfully blended into a comprehensive approach that supports healing, growth, and overall wellness.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Family Studies from the University of Maryland in 1998. After returning to New Jersey, I began working in community mental health while pursuing my Master of Social Work at Rutgers University, graduating magna cum laude in 2002. I completed three years of study and specialized training in Sandplay Therapy. I went on to provide intensive in-home family and individual therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and parents in crisis. After four years of postgraduate supervision and clinical work, I earned my Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in 2008.
I continued to provide therapeutic services through New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care and I also worked in outpatient settings, supporting children, teens, adults, and parents.
With over 15 years of experience, I've helped many individuals address challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, sleep difficulties, relationship issues, and more. Seeking help is a courageous first step, and I'm here to support you on this journey. Together, we will uncover life patterns that prevent you from reaching your potential and develop strategies to break through these obstacles. My approach is tailored to your unique needs, ensuring effective and personalized therapy to help you reach your goals. You can learn more at https://www.mentalwellnesscare.com/
I want potential clients to know that I am a genuine person/ therapist. I will always be genuine and honest with you. I am very easy going, easy to talk with, and I believe one of my strengths is the ability to gain a client's trust- allowing the person to feel comfortable discussing any issue without fear of judgment. I have 25 years experience as a psychotherapist working with all ages from children to the elderly in correctional settings, substance abuse, and a university.
I am a licensed professional counselor with a doctoral degree in Counseling and Psychological Studies. I work with clients navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal conflict, and addiction. My approach blends evidence-based practices, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed care, and person-centered counseling, while incorporating a holistic perspective. I’m passionate about creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly heard. I draw on both my clinical training and personal experiences to support clients in building resilience, developing coping strategies, and finding meaningful personal growth.
