I am an experienced LCSW who has specialized in trauma-focused therapy with adults and children. I am bilingual (English/Spanish) and have worked with immigrants and bicultural families. With 15 years of social work experience, my goal is to provide a therapeutic space for individuals meet their emotional and relationship goals.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have over 12 years of experience in the mental health field. I provide a warm and supportive place where you can slow down, reflect and reconnect with yourself.
Currently I am focusing on first time mothers and those who are already mothers find balance in their current role, relationships, career and sense of self.
Seeking out support is a vulnerable yet necessary first step in change. I aim to empower clients to see that they are worthy. In my practice I work to build trusting relationships, to unpack false beliefs, enhance self-care, and reprocess past traumas. Working with clients I will take their lead on the goals that they intend to achieve, and the changes they want to make. I believe when individuals choose to enhance their well-being, a ripple effect of empowerment is felt by those around them.
The menopause season can bring unexpected emotional and mental health challenges- even for women who have never struggles with anxiety, mood changes or sleep challenges before. You may be experiencing new or intensified anxiety, anger, panic symptoms, health concerns, or a persistent sense of unease. This often feels confusing, and disruptive, to our daily living. Many women describe feeling unlike themselves and are unsure where to turn for support. It is my belief that we all have an innate resiliency to heal a wounded mind or a broken heart. Our work together aims to nurture what is already inside, to help understand your challenges and fortify your strengths.
As a compassionate mental health therapist, I find it important to focus on empowerment, understanding emotions, and overcoming obstacles throughout life’s journey. I have experience with trauma focused care, adjustment to change, and stress management through holistic approaches. I am a clinically licensed social worker with 6 years of higher education, past experience as a family and youth advocate, a direct care worker for children’s behavioral health, and 3 years working with adults seeking mental health support. Remember, you are not alone and you matter!
I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. The ideal client is open, courageous, and dedicated to their personal growth. They engage in therapy with honesty, ready to explore and understand their inner world. Embracing change with a patience and self-compassion, they can recognize that healing is a journey. Life is too precious to spend in bad relationships, holding grudges, letting trauma control us, or feeling anxious and angry. Together, we can create a supportive and safe space to work towards a healthier, happier self.
