I am an honest and compassionate therapist with a direct approach to therapy. I believe therapy works best when communication is open, clear, and collaborative. I encourage curiosity, openness, and personal growth, and I aim to empower clients to take an active role in their healing and decision-making process.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a master’s-level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) practicing in Florida. My experience working in residential treatment settings for mental health and substance use has shaped my commitment to compassionate, client-centered care. Through years of clinical practice, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of how thoughts, emotions, and life experiences impact daily functioning and overall well-being.
I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, respected, and understood. Like many people, I have faced personal challenges that have deepened my understanding of mental health and strengthened my empathy for those I work with. I earned my master’s degree in social work from the University of Maine and have worked in home-based family programs, residential treatment settings, and a methadone clinic providing medication-assisted treatment. Throughout my career, I’ve supported adults with dual diagnoses, trauma, mood disorders, serious mental illness, and substance use concerns, as well as older adults navigating life transitions.
Welcome! You've landed in the right place if you are a woman navigating life's transitions - becoming a mother, stepping into a new career, adjusting to a shifting sense of self, or carrying anxiety or depression that feels too heavy to hold alone. My passion and specialization is in working with women in every season of life, with a particular heart for perinatal depression and anxiety, the emotional weight of new motherhood, and the unique pressures women face as they grow in their careers. Whether your anxiety feels like a quiet hum or an overwhelming roar, you deserve real, compassionate support.
I use a solution focused approach which means I use modalities that suit your needs best. They include CBT, DBT, EMDR, and mindfulness practices.
What can clients expect from their first session with you?During our initial therapy session, my priority is to create a safe space for you to share your story and understand how I can best support you. You can expect:
-Introductions & Overview: To discuss the framework for our work together and a chance for you to ask any initial questions about the process.
-Sharing Your Presenting Concerns: This is your opportunity to describe what brings you to therapy. We'll focus on the challenges and symptoms you are currently experiencing, giving me a clear understanding of your primary concerns.
-Brief History Taking: To provide comprehensive support, I'll ask some questions about your relevant personal history, including past experiences, family background, and any previous therapeutic experiences. This helps illuminate patterns and influences on your current situation.
-Collaborative Goal Setting: Together, we'll begin to identify what you hope to achieve through therapy. This isn't about having all the answers now; it's about forming initial goals that will guide our work and help you move towards the changes you desire.
By the end of our first session, my aim is for you to feel heard, understood, and have a clearer sense of how we can work together to support your journey towards healing and well-being. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable.
