As a therapist of nearly 20 years I believe prioritizing mental health is key to happiness and stability in life. Seeking help can be one of the hardest parts, I congratulate you for taking that first step! My main focus is helping individuals struggling with anxiety and mood disorders and life changes.
Greetings! My name is LaKendria Ellis and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who cares. I obtained my Masters in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling in 2017 and acquired a wide variety of experience in my time as a clinician and through my own journey of healing. I hope to help clients become the best versions of themselves by practicing authenticity! I am my clients "biggest cheerleader" and "advocate". I help individuals heal while working through life transitions. Let me help you.
I came to counseling after having already completed a successful career and was looking for something different. I completed graduate school in Texas and have since become licensed in both Texas and Colorado. The majority of my work is in general counseling and I also work with couples and families. I have worked for University of Texas schools as well as for the University of Alabama. While working in the UT system schools I helped with veterans issues and transition to civilian life. During Covid I provided counseling for military families and first responders.
Former teacher + school counselor turned therapist.
I’ve spent 12 years supporting teens—first as a teacher, then as a school counselor—and now I help young people build resilience and grow through life’s challenges. I’ve walked alongside adolescents and young adults through real‐life ups and downs.
I am a passionate therapist who strives to empower my clients
I utilize an eclectic therapeutic style that allows me to meet the client where they are to help them accomplish their goals
Being a therapist is more than a job to me. It is a calling

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
